About Allyssa

Growing up, my mother was a wedding and event planner and would often bring me along and let me do small jobs such as folding mountains of napkins, polishing silverware, or acting as a “rent-a-flower girl” for weddings.

My father was a small business owner as a logger, artist, and wood worker. Back then, and to this day, his business operates on a cash basis and a handshake. Both my parents taught me the importance of honesty, personalization, creativity, and hard work in their profession, and in mine.

I discovered my passion and calling for those who were experiencing grief and trauma and decided to pursue a career as a licensed psychologist with a focus on trauma therapy. Although my career path was completely different than that of my parents, working through college, I inadvertently followed in their footsteps. I worked as a wedding and events coordinator planning many weddings, birthdays, charities, and celebrations of life in a beautiful country club, while on the side, I worked selling firewood and custom wood orders with my father and brother.

In my spare time, I became a volunteer with the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) where a team of trained volunteers are dispatched by first responders to provide emotional and practical support for individuals facing unbelievable tragedy. I recognized that the stress and shock of losing a loved one made it very difficult for individuals to comprehend information and process the next steps. Volunteers like myself, assist the family with making the next immediate arrangements after death.

To balance full time education, multiple jobs, volunteer, and leave room for my personal life, I developed skills in organization and planning. Currently, I am continuing my education to become licensed psychologist and will enter graduate courses at a doctorate level.

I didn’t know it at the time, but my life experiences have created a toolbelt where each tool is used to craft a business that is built on compassion, event planning, organization, trauma education, hard work and honesty.

I decided to start a business that understands the stressful demands of making arrangements after the death of a loved one. With a broad understanding of the process from picking mortuaries, to planning memorial services, to notarizing final documents, Arrow Funeral Planning stays by your side when you find yourself saying “I can’t do this.” “I don’t know what to do next” and “I don’t understand.” This service is designed to guide you through the process with compassion and understanding to make your experience as simple and easy as possible.
